Il genere per noi si declina sia come elemento costitutivo dei rapporti sociali fondato sulle differenze percepibili fra donne e uomini esia come primordiale modalità di dare significato ai rapporti di potere. È un concetto che si struttura su due elementi indissolubili ma analiticamente distinguibili: la “divisione”, cioè l’idea che le differenze, di qualsiasi ordine esse siano, non abbiano valore “naturale” ma siano il prodotto di un processo di costruzione sociale; e la gerarchia attraverso la quale queste differenze vengono ordinate. Ciò significa che la gerarchia ha carattere fondativo per quanto riguarda le differenze.

Questo manifesto è frutto del lavoro collettivo di IFE Italia. In oltre due anni abbiamo letto, discusso, approfondito, fra di noi ed insieme ad alcune compagne di strada, il senso dell’essere femministe oggi, in una dimensione politica, cioè capace di tenere insieme analisi e azione. Ne è nato il testo che pubblichiamo e che rappresenta, non un punto di arrivo ma bensì di partenza. E’ nostra intenzione infatti continuare questo lavoro, confrontandoci su "parole chiave" discutendone con amiche/amici e compagne/i, disponibili a ragionare con noi. Per questo abbiamo pensato di pubblicare, ogni quindici giorni , sulla pagina FB dedicata e sul nostro sito ( www.ifeitalia.eu ), le parole manifeste per noi più significative.
